Date: Sunday, July 11th
IT’S PICNIC TIME. Instead of a July meeting, S4 gets together for a cookout and picnic. This year we are holding the picnic at The Nisqually Pines Community Center.
The picnic officially begins at 4:00pm and you may use the swimming pool for a $4.00 fee per person. See Dave at the picnic about this. There will be badminton, horseshoes and more. Feel free to bring your favorite outdoor game.
Bring your family, a gardening friend, or an interested seed saver. Grills will be provided to cook your food. In addition to what you want to grill for yourself and your guest(s), bring a dish to share: finger foods & snacks, salads, side dishes, or desserts. In your picnic basket include what you choose to drink, your picnic dishes and silverware. (You provide your plates and eating utensils…..and your own favorite drinks.)
Hopefully we will actually have a summer day to enjoy. It’s your picnic and the time to tell your favorite garden story and compare gardens….along with getting to know your fellow members.

IT’S YOUR PICNIC…..COME AND HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME!
DIRECTIONS: At the intersection of Hwy 510 & Hwy 507 in Yelm, take 1st street North at the original traffic light in Yelm (not 1st St. S toward Rainier). Follow 1st St. N until the natural curve to the left, then turn right onto NP (Northern Pacific Rd.) SE. Follow it until the stop sign at Canal Rd., SE. Turn left onto Canal Rd. Stay to the right at the “Y” and it becomes Wilkensen Rd. Follow Wilkensen to Port Orford Blvd. SE on the right and the entrance to Nisqually Pines. After entering the Pines, stay on the main road which will take you to the Community Center. Look for the S4 picnic sign. (Getting there is a lot easier than it sounds.)
